Homes GMAC Real Estate |
|
The
Quincy MA brokerage firm of Classic Homes GMAC Real Estate needed
a professional web presence. Owner Barry Rabinovitz recognized the
value of using internet marketing to reach a broad customer base.
Barry
and Angela Ponte, Relocation Specialist, collaborated to select
resources for the site. They wanted to make it easily recognizable
to local clientele, at the same time providing property search capability
to their large relocation base. Barry also wanted to promote the
quality of his services in addition to attracting real estate professionals
to his successful brokerage firm.
Using
Classic Homes' colors, typography and images, WEB-PATHS created
a site that connects business to community.
This
site is now operated by another source although several Web-Paths'
features remain..

Maureen
Walsh, Realtor
|
|
Boston
realtor MAUREEN WALSH had a web site,
but in her opinion it needed a 'major overhaul'. Besides being a
series of misdirected and dead links, Maureen's site no longer reflected
her distinctive characteristic: her deep commitment to providing
informational resources to residential real estate clients and customers.
Maureen recognized the value of internet marketingand wished to
develop her site to direct more business her way.
Before
deciding upon content, we looked at sites of other agents to see
what they had to offer. In general, we noted the following variations:
|

MaureenWalsh.com
|
-
Too
many links offering every online gizmo for the buyer, and removing
the buyer from the agent's site
-
Beautiful
high quality graphics, but canned content
-
An
unappealing hodge-podge page design
WEB-PATHS
designed a streamlined site for Maureen, giving users access to selected
online resources but keeping them within her site. In addition, by
displaying images and descriptions of current inventory, Maureen keeps
her content dynamic. And last but not least, Maureen's unique marketing
asset her charming personality comes through. |

Destination
Dominica, a Travelogue
|
| Each
winter, members of the NEW ENGLAND AQUARIUM DIVE CLUB head
for the Caribbean island of Dominica for a week of exceptional
scuba diving. In January 2001, I had the good fortune to be a part
of the group. During the week, I watched my fellow divers snapshotting
people and places both on land and in the water; I thought wouldn't
it be great if we could all have copies of each other's photos.
Taking it one step further, it dawned on me that a web site would
be a perfect way to share images -- and then I recalled that I design
web sites! |
 |
| |
|
|
As
a gift to my fellow travelers and to enable NEADC Program Director
Al Bozza to promote the island trip in future years, WEB-PATHS
collated everyone's photographs to develop the site. After having
had such a wonderful vacation, I relived that magical week as I
worked on those web pages. The trip was so enjoyable that I returned
in 2003.
Take
a look at the site and see how much fun we had. View this lovely
volcanic island through our photographs. See us hike and dive and
eat. View our comments on our experience. And be sure not to miss
the gorgeous underwater photographs of 'critters' donated by professional
photographer, videographer and educator Jonathan
Bird.

ArtFolks,
Two Artists Who Share a Web Site
|
|
Artists
ROBERT SELKOWITZ and NANCY WINTERNIGHT share a long-term
marriage and a web site, but their personal and professional identities
are distinct.
Several
years ago, a friend developed a site for Robert. It included images
of Robert's paintings and information about his professional life.
As time passed, links were added, including one for Nancy's work.
The site, however, contained content but not structure, and the
'look and feel' had grown old. The artists wished to add new content;
it became apparent the site needed a complete 'make-over'.
|
|
Given
the number of images they wanted in the site, WEB-PATHS worked
with the artists to encourage them to group their paintings into
'collections'. Other activities, such as Robert's lectures and Nancy's
work as a humanistic educator, had to be fleshed out. Statements
about their artwork had to be written. Content about their two studios
needed editing.
Conversely,
the artists told WEB-PATHS that because they maintain separate
identities, some proposals would not work. In short, client and
developer worked together to create a site that both reflects the
clients' self-image and contains engaging material.
|

Robert's
|
|
The
end result is an 'online studio' with the following categories of
information:
- About
the Artists (him and her)
- Collections
(his and hers)
- Studios
(theirs)
- Pricelists
(his and hers)
Take
a tour of the site. You'lll enjoy viewing some very beautiful images.
Ask yourself which artist's work you prefer. It will be difficult
to decide.
Note:
While the original site architecture remains, the site has been
updated by another developer.

Ergometrica,
a research organization
|
|
Ergometrica,
a Cambridge MA research and consulting firm, conducts studies in
human factors and office ergonomics for major corporations. Their
research helps organizations understand how people work in office
environments.
To run their studies, Ergometrica needs to recruite subjects. WEB-PATHS
developed a site for them that explains the requirements of the
current project and includes an online application form for interested
participants.
This
site is inactive.
