This California manufacturer of networking products for the small office/home office market, realized that its method of classroom instruction for sales/support professionals was no longer an effective solution. With many new products coming onto the market, the sales trainer could no longer maintain a balanced schedule of courses. The company chose to use interactive training to instruct field representatives on the attributes of its latest products.

WEB-PATHS converted a PowerPoint slide show into a course. Using the ReadyGo Course Builder Web Authoring tool, WEB-PATHS:

• defined course objectives
• clarified and consolidated content
• integrated appropriate images and interactivity
• created 100 practice and test questions
• designed a 'look and feel' for Netgear to use in future courses

This course provides quick access to content without a lot of 'bells and whistles'. It takes an hour to view and is best viewed at 1024x768.

Developing an online training course for our Layered Managed Switch was a first project for us and a learning exercise also. During the course of the development we added a lot of content to the course and even though it was long, it has been well received by end users. The original intent was to design a tool for sales professionals to quickly become familiar with the product and ultimately it became of more a interactive step by step on-line product feature and installation guide tutorial. The program is still in active use and has been a model or other tutorial programs we have for other products.
