The FSM726S Switch requires an RS232 connection to connect a console to the switch.
Use the null-modem (9-pin) cable to connect to:
 | a COM port on a VT100/ANSI terminal, PC, Macintosh or UNIX workstation on the one end, and |
| the switch's console port, labeled Console, on the other end. |

With stacked switches, you must connect the console cable to the master switch. |
|
Do not connect the switch to the network until proper IP settings have been set. |
